Innovation Challenge in artisanal fishing
The innovation challenge in artisanal fishing, it’s sponsered by Conservación Internacional Colombia – CI and the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Its goal is to gather students at the Universidad del Valle, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad de Antioquia, Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano and the Universidad de los Andes to create alternative solutions to the use of styrofoam in the storage and transportation of fishery resources.
The challenge will be set in an artisanal fishing context. Participants will be able to learn about the territorial dynamics of fishing communities and they can use it as a key element when proposing solutions. The teams will be made up of 5 people, and there is a maximum quota of 150 participants.
The virtual challenge will take place during the 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th of July 2020, it will be developed under 4 stages and the team that presents the best solution will win the “golden fish”, a prize that represents 2’500.000 colombian pesos and the possibility of managing funding for the implementation of the proposal.
